Internet Service Improves in Islamabad But Still Poor in Other Cities

Pakistan’s twin capitals of Islamabad and Rawalpindi have experienced that internet service have improved recently, but many regions of the nation, including Lahore, continue to struggle with slow internet speeds.

Millions of customers are still unaware of the problem, and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has yet to offer an explanation for the ongoing problems. It seems to be completely clueless as to why the problem still exists and why the internet service has not improved.

Due to their inability to fulfill their professional and academic obligations, students and independent contractors are among the most impacted.

In many cities, meta platforms Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp continue to operate very slowly. Users have complained about having trouble downloading and uploading voice notes, videos, and photographs.

Virtual private networks (VPNs) are also not functioning regularly, which is worth highlighting. PTA’s misuse of its new firewall has been cited by many as the primary cause of internet outages. The authority has not yet clarified the problem or acknowledged the inconvenience.

In an effort to quell nonviolent protests, the government restricted internet access for three days last week. A week after the demonstration ended late Tuesday night, problems still exist.
