mobile services in Peshawar will be suspended.

The commissioner of Peshawar announced that the mobile services of the city of Peshawar will be suspended on September 22, coincidentally on the same day as the Medical and Dental College Entrance Test (MDCAT). All the neighborhoods surrounding the examination halls throughout the city will be impacted.

The MDCAT is expected to last four hours, which is when the mobile services are planned to be suspended in Peshawar. According to officials, the purpose of this action is to stop cheating and other illegal behaviors that can jeopardize the exam’s integrity.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Commissioner’s Office have officially communicated to enable this brief service interruption. The regulatory authority has been notified in writing of the request and its justification, requesting their assistance in carrying out this temporary network closure.

For the upcoming MDCAT 2024, the details on extra security measures were provided by the Commissioner of Peshawar. Cell phone communications will be blocked by signal jamming devices that will be positioned both inside and outside examination halls to further safeguard the integrity of the test.

Section 144 was used by authorities to keep the area around test centers well organized by forbidding uninvited persons from congregating there. The purpose of this phase is to reduce possible interruptions and keep the testing environment focused for the participants.

The responsibility of creating an all-encompassing security strategy has been assigned to the Superintendent of Police (SP) Security, the Commissioner divulged. Both male and female police officers will be deployed to protect exam professionals and candidates during the testing procedure.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s MDCAT 2024 is being administered under the direction of Khyber Medical University Peshawar. Peshawar will see the establishment of numerous testing locations in order to handle the high volume of applicants.

All provincial secretaries are directed by the council to start preparing for the exam.
