Due to slow internet speed, Pakistan’s IT industry has been facing severe disruptions, causing notable hindrance for local businesses as repeated internet drops have obstructed creativity and international clients have also lost trust.

The local IT firms that are related to web development and digital marketing are encountering extreme drop in efficiency.

Jobs that used to take 5 to 6 hours to complete are now taking more then 10 hours of work due to slow internet. It is causing the workload to double and operational costs to increase because businesses are being forced to pay extra salaries to its worker because of ineffectiveness and causing high electricity bills, taxing their limited resources.

Due to the “awful” state of affairs, many foreign clients are moving their operations to nations with better internet connections.

IT specialists estimate that Pakistan’s e-commerce industry generates $3 billion in sales annually. But there’s a significant financial loss as a result of the internet outage.

Company owners are pleading with the authorities to take swift action to resolve this matter in order to shield the country’s rapidly growing IT industry.

“Our clients abroad are losing trust in us due to these internet issues. We are struggling to meet deadlines and maintain our reputation. Clients are moving to India and Bangladesh due to better internet services.” A local entrepreneur grieved.

In order to secure the future of the country’s digital economy, the IT community demanded that urgent action be taken to upgrade the internet infrastructure.

It is as clear as day that the businesses are financially struggling. They are having hard time to pay salaries of the stuff due to delay in payments. In order to avoid more setbacks, the community called for quick involvement to upgrade internet infrastructure.

It is affecting students as well. Students are complaining that they have been dealing with this issue for a week, which has them concerned as well. The students claim that the majority of their issues involve downloading and searching for data.

Due to poor internet speed Software companies, small company owners, students, and online gamers are all quite irritated. Students have requested that this issue be resolved by the government right away.

Students said, “It feels like we’re going back to the Stone Age,”

For both students and online gamers, the situation is serious. Students are finding it difficult to finish their homework, while gamers are unable to play their favorite games.

Dr. Muhammad Mubashir, an IT specialist, claims that installing a firewall is crucial for every nation’s cyber system to be protected. A firewall will assist Pakistan in reducing online risks such as terrorism, fake news, and fraud.

He also stated that Pakistan is ten years behind other developed nations in having firewalls installed on the internet. He added that although the firewall installation had slowed down internet speed, experts will increase networking to fix the issue.

An expert stated, “Communication will be made safer through firewalls. It is hoped that the internet situation will improve by August-end.”
