Sajjad Mustafa Syed Elected as New Chairman of P@SHA

Sajjad Mustafa Syed, the recently elected Chairman P@SHA, or Chairman of Excellence Delivered (ExD), offers an affluence of experience from his leadership positions in leading international IT & consulting firms like PwC, Oracle, and SAP. He succeeded in getting Oracle to invest $20 million in Pakistan to train 7,000 IT workers.

It is important to remember that P@SHA’s general body includes CEOs of leading IT businesses. Achieving $5 billion in IT exports in FY25 by rapidly but sustainably growing Pakistan’s tech sector was another item on the list.

The outgoing P@SHA chairman, Muhammad Zohaib Khan, emphasized that Pakistan’s IT sector brought in $3.2 billion in precious foreign exchange reserves (FER) in FY24, creating jobs and enhancing Pakistan’s reputation abroad. This helped maintain rupee-dollar parity.

During the AGM, Nadeem Malik, the outgoing chairman and secretary general, gave a presentation of P@SHA’s annual performance review.

He emphasized the association’s vital role as the only representative of the private IT industry in coordination and synergy with the province IT ministries, Tech Destination Pakistan, the Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication (MoITT), the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), and the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

P@SHA has elected Muhammad Umair Nizam, the Group Director of Ecommerce Gateway, to the position of Senior Vice Chairman.

He has worked in the computer sector for more than 18 years. Advocating for industry expansion, he now serves as the Deputy Convener of FPCCI’s IT Subcommittee. He has been actively involved in P@SHA’s Brand and Industry Engagement Committees.

Raheel Iqbal, a well-known figure in the $400 million gaming business and the CEO of The Game Storm Studios, one of Pakistan’s leading gaming exporters, has been chosen as the Vice Chairman. On the other hand, P@SHA’s treasurer will be Haris Naseer, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of InfoTech Group, one of the leading exporters of IT in the nation.

The following individuals were also elected to the Central Executive Committee (CEC) for the 2024–2026 term: Salman Dar, CEO of Itroos; Hassan Bin Rizwan, CEO of Moonshot Animations; Munaf Majeed, CEO of Server4Sale; Sheikh Abdul Qadir, MD of IDRAK Ai; and Usman Akbar, CEO of Purelogics Group.
