WhatsApp, the messaging app, which belongs to Meta, has added a new function which will allow users to apply cool filters and can change backgrounds to better video calling and camera performance.
According to the reliable news tracker WaBetaInfo, the latest version of WhatsApp reportedly incorporates augmented reality (AR) effects and filters, providing users with new visual tools to personalize their video conversations.
With the addition of call effects and filters in the most recent beta version of WhatsApp, users may now include augmented reality effects straight into their camera interface.
A recently added filter button that lets users apply multiple visual filters with a single press to enhance the visual appeal of photos and videos is one of the feature highlights.
These visual enhancements were first restricted to in-person video conversations. Thanks to the most recent update, users may now utilize the camera to apply these effects, though.
“With this new button, users can quickly toggle through a variety of filters, allowing for real-time adjustments before capturing their images and videos.” WaBetaInfo stated.
A skin-smoothing filter that helps users minimize imperfections and balance out skin tones for a more put-together appearance is one of the noteworthy improvements. The site has also included a background-changing capability that was only available during video calls. Users can now completely blur the background or switch out their real surroundings for virtual ones for a more refined look.
A lighting adjustment tool is also included by WhatsApp to enhance video quality, with a low-light option. When used in low-light conditions, to improve clarity, this mode spontaneously brightens the photos and videos.
Only beta testers with the most recent version of WhatsApp Beta for Android installed are able to access the feature at this time. In the upcoming weeks, it is anticipated that a larger audience will receive the feature.
