PIA software glitch caused disturbance nationwide.

A software glitch in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system has brought the office operations of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to a standstill nationwide.

On Wednesday, PIA’s crucial employee-related operations, such as medical management as well as approval of their leave, were managed by the ERP system. However, PIA office work across the country came to a halt because of the software glitch on Wednesday.

To get the ERP system back up and running, the IT department of PIA is putting in a lot of effort into fixing the problem. It was confirmed through a spokesman that steps are being taken to fix the technical issues and to reduce additional interference.

For now, it is still known how the disruption occurred as well as when the internal system of PIA’s will be restored.
