AI based E-challan

In an effort to control the violations of traffic, the Punjab government is working to enforce artificial intelligence (AI) by issuing e-challans for traffic violation, complete with evidence and substantial fines.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz went to X and announced, “The Punjab government has now started issuing the artificial intelligence-based challans. This is a step towards technologically advanced Punjab and using technology to improve and enhance governance.

The latest cameras will be used by the new system, which combines high-level computerized traffic monitoring to issue challans to the vehicles that generate pollution.

Maryam Nawaz, Chief Minister of Punjab, advised the officials to use Punjab Safe City Cameras equipped with top-notch technology in Lahore to issue challans to vehicles that generate excessive amounts of pollution.

This artificial technology is designed to measure the smoke release from autorickshaws, vehicles, and motorcycles. Numerous e-challans for excessive smoke level from different types of vehicles, which include trucks, cars, motorcycles, and buses, have already been issued by the Traffic Police of Lahore.

These cameras will not only capture the images but will also video the vehicles that emit smoke and will also supply hard evidence that will be added to electronic tickets. This approach promotes responsibility and openness by ensuring that offenders get warrants filled with evidence.

Maryam Aurangzeb, Senior Minister of Punjab, emphasized the coupled benefits of this initiative in a statement, “Both environmental protection and the implementation of traffic rules are being ensured with modern technology and cameras.”

Her announcement highlights the government’s strategy to tackle pollution and to reduce traffic violations by using this advanced technology.

The use of AI is expected to have a dramatically positive impact on air quality and traffic management in Punjab by monitoring with modern cameras.

The goal of government is to improve public health and generate the sustainability of urban environments by minimizing the number of vehicles that pollute the air. In addition to this, the strict implementation of traffic laws should also improve road safety and lower traffic jams.
