Google Honours Madam Noor Jehan with Doodle on 91st Birthday

Today is 91st birthday of Madam Noor Jehan and Google as always have dedicated a Google Doodle on their homepage in her honour.

Previously Google have dedicated a doodle to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan on their homepage which was greatly appreciated by Pakistani’s.

Noor Jehan’s (actual name was Allah Rakhi Wasai) born on 21st September 1925, was known as the “Malika-e-Taranum” (Queen of Melody) across the Pakistan and Worldwide.

Her unique style of singing and her melodious voice captured hearts of millions in south asia specially during the war of 1960’s.

She recorded about 10,000 songs in various languages in India and Pakistan, including Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi and Sindhi.

The doodle featuring Madam Noor Jehan in a purple attire, with a choker and the memorable flower on the side of her hair and it has great resemblance with Dildar Sadqay Lakh Waar Sadqay performance on PTV.
